Here is a good film clip about the hot rolling of steel.

This is a Dalarna / SSAB training clip which provides a video overview of the main processes in a hot rolling mill.

Reheating furnace, roughing mill, coil box and finishing mill operations are all briefly described, starting from steel slab. Mill scale production, de-scaling, strip gauge control, strip temperature control and similar issues are discussed.
